Rainforest Alliance Certified™

Now Sapphire has been awarded with the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ mark for achieving significant and measurable sustainability milestones. This verification assures the commitment of Now Sapphire to reduce the impact of its activities on the planet and local communities.
As part of the Rainforest Alliance, Now Jade recently implemented an integrated waste management program as a sign of their commitment to reducing, treating and safely disposing of hazardous/non-hazardous wastes.

The first step in their program included an analysis of the existing conditions & the education of their personnel. The hotels worked closely with professionals trained in identifying, handling and sorting hazardous, chemical and solid wastes. Then, they held a series of training events for hotel personnel.

In response to the training events, Now Sapphire has recovered and recycled more than 32 tons of materials that would otherwise have ended up in the municipal landfill. Also, the courses raised awareness to employees regarding hazardous nature of certain wastes and health conditions that could arise without proper in-handling.

Now Sapphire is a proud member of Amigos de Sian Ka’an, the mission of which is to conserve biodiversity, promote the socioeconomic development of local communities, and influence environmental culture and policies.

Stewardship
