Hacienda Xcanatún by Angsana

The magnificent Hacienda Xcanatún by Angsana -Casa de Piedra (meaning “tall stone house” in Mayan) was originally constructed in the mid 18th century as a classic hacienda dedicated to agriculture and livestock. Its colorful history included being owned by a notable local family before becoming one of the most important sisal-(“green gold”) producing haciendas in the region.

Located minutes from the center of Mérida, Xcanatún had fallen into ruins, but after five years of restoration by the Ruz family this incomparable hacienda lives again. All Sayab Master Suite have comfortable sitting areas in English Colonial style, large bathroom with vanity area, large private verandas with Yucatecan hammocks and exterior hydrotherapy tub surrounded by tropical gardens. Seven have king size bed, and one has 2 double canopy beds. All have air conditioning as well as overhead fans, mini bar, safe deposit boxes, and hairdryers.

Yaab Governor Suite

All Yaab Governor Suite have large, comfortable, luxuriously appointed sitting room furnished with antiques, and large separate bedroom with king size bed. Oversize bathroom with hydrotherapy tub, two with hand carved coral stone tubs and waterfalls. One Master Suite available with 2 double canopy beds and wet-bar area within separate sitting room. Private verandas surrounded by tropical gardens. All have air conditioning as well as overhead fans, mini bar, safe deposit box, hairdryers, and iPod dock.
